Memphis, TN- The Concordia University Texas Volleyball team started its season going 2-2 in the Rhodes College Tournament in Memphis, TN over the weekend.
Concordia picked up wins over St. Catharine, 25-16, 25-11, 25-7 and Randolph College, 25-23, 17-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-12 on Sunday after dropping games to ASC rival UT-Tyler and Millsaps College.
On the weekend Concordia had 146 kills on 452 attacks. Sophomore
Carrie Fisk led the Tornado attack with 47 kills and 14 aces on the weekend.
Valerie Martinez and
Juli Applewhaite split the setter duties combining for 120 total assists.
Concordia will again travel to Dallas, TX for the University of Dallas invitational starting Friday September 5, 2008. Their first game will be against Hendrix College at 1pm followed by Austin College at 5pm.
