ALPINE, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak with a 3-1 win at Sul Ross State University Monday evening at the Gallego Center.  The Tornados (2-10, 1-5 ASC) won the match by the scores of 29-27, 25-13, 20-25, 25-19.

The Tornados were led by sophomores #Kalynn White# and #Kevyn Jackson#, who each racked up seven kills in the win. 

Freshman #Bianca Martinez# directed the Tornados offense by dishing out 21 assists.  Martinez also recorded eight digs in the four-set match.

CTX went up early by winning the first two sets of the match.  After Sul Ross State (0-11, 0-6 ASC) won the third set, the Tornados were able to hold on and claim their first win of the conference season.

The Tornados last win came 16 days ago, as CTX swept Huston-Tillotson University on Sept. 12 at the Southwestern University Invitational in Georgetown.

CTX will begin preparations for the first ASC crossover tournament, which will take place Oct. 2-3 in Marshall.  The Tornados will play three matches in the two-day event, which will be hosted by East Texas Baptist University.
