BROWNWOOD, Texas --- Freshman middle blocker 
Alison Pringle posted a match-high 12 kills and hit at a .500 clip while leading the Concordia University Texas volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Howard Payne University Tuesday evening at the Brownwood Coliseum. The Tornados (9-12, 7-8 ASC) won the match by scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-22.
CTX jumped out to early leads in all three games against a HPU team (9-16, 3-13 ASC) that was unable to put up little defense at the net (zero team blocks). The Tornados cruised to the three game sweep that will now give the team an outside shot at a possible conference tournament entrance.
Sammy Ladewig and 
Bianca Martinez guided CTX to a .116 hitting percentage while amassing 15 and 12 assists respectively. American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week 
Jessie Mundfrom picked up 17 digs and also dished out five assists. 
Amanda Affolter was second on the team slamming home seven kills on 20 swings.
Howard Payne was led offensively by Tamika Heline who recorded 11 kills on 44 swings while Amber Cantu-Curry dished out a match-high 25 assists.  The Yellow Jackets amassed 63 digs on the evening led by Kristin Hammond with 17.
The Tornados will be back in action this weekend as the team hosts McMurry on Friday at 6:00 p.m. CTX will then host senior night on Saturday, in a match versus Sul Ross State beginning at 2:00 p.m.
