RICHARDSON, Texas --- Eighteenth-ranked University of Texas-Dallas cruised past the Concordia Texas volleyball team in four games 25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15 Saturday afternoon in the final match of the American Southwest Conference Dig Pink Crossover Challenge.
Concordia (5-8, 3-5 ASC) hit .116 in the match led by Amanda Affolter and Kevyn Jackson, who both collected ten kills in the contest. The Comets (13-1, 8-0 ASC) used the comforts of its home court to hit .311 from the floor and remain undefeated in ASC play this year.
Concordia was able to take game three from the Comets, thanks to an aggressive serving game-plan as the Tornados collected nine aces in the match, including five from Bianca Martinez. Freshman Sammy Ladewig dished out 20 assists while Jessie Mundfrom collected 17 digs.
The Tornados will travel to Seguin on Tuesday to take on Texas Lutheran followed by a match at home Thursday with Hardin-Simmons. Game-time for both contests is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
