AUSTIN, Texas --- Sammy Ladewig dished out 21 assists and made 11 digs in the freshman's first collegiate start leading the Concordia Texas volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Schreiner University Tuesday evening at Concordia Fieldhouse. The Tornados collected its second consecutive ASC conference win and improve to 4-7, 2-3 ASC for the year.

Leading the way offensively was junior Kalynn White registering 11 kills and hitting at a .292 clip. Alison Pringle added six kills on only 18 swings while Kevyn Jackson recorded a team-high 12 digs.

CTX would take an early lead in set one as a Sammy Ladewig serving run gave CTX a 15-9 advantage. Schreiner would answer back with a 5-1 run just moments later cutting the lead to 23-21. A Kalynn white kill and Amanda Affolter block would win the set for the Tornados taking game one 25-22.

Both teams would trade points in set two as the Tornados gained a 15-12 lead only to see their lead slip to a 19-18 advantage. Concordia would lose set point twice until Amanda Affolter slammed home a cross-court kill to give CTX a 27-25 victory.

The third set was tied at 13 until Concordia went on a 6-1 run to open up a comfortable lead and cruise to a 25-18 win to beat Schreiner in straight sets.

Concordia showed its strength at the net registering seven total blocks and limiting Schreiner to a -.018 hitting percentage for the match.

Libero Jessie Mundfrom
collected 11 digs on the night while Alison Pringle and Amanda Affolter combined for seven block assists.

The Tornados hit just .108 on the night, but many of these kills came in a timely manner as CTX was able to pull away after being tied at the mid-way point in each of the three sets.

CTX will look to add to its momentum as the team travels to Richardson, Texas for three pivotal conference games as part of the first ASC Dig Pink Crossover Challenge.
