Volleyball Matches Last Year's Conference and Overall Win Totals With 3-1 Victory Over Sul Ross State

- Emma Clifford recorded 10 kills and hit at a .360 clip in leading the Concordia University Texas volleyball team to a 3-1 victory (25-19, 25-20, 25-27, 25-21) over Sul Ross State on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Gallego Center. The Tornados matched their overall and conference win totals from last season.

Clifford only committed one error against her 10 kills on 25 total attempts to lead the Tornados to their eighth conference win of the season and third in the last four matches. She also added a team-high five blocks, which were all a solo effort. Bianca Martinez recorded 28 assists to lead the squad's 5-1 offensive attack. Kalynn White and Stacy Manship finished with eight and six kills, respectively, while recording four service aces and four digs apiece. Brooke Blanton recorded a team-high 10 digs.

Sul Ross State (1-18, ASC 0-12), which has not won an American Southwest Conference battle since 2007 and is currently on an 18-match slide, was paced by Josette Delgado and Brooke Bankston. Delgado just missed a double-double with 26 assists and nine digs, while Bankston notched a match-high 13 kills. Tamika Harris, Jessica Gonzales and Kathy Peralez all contributed double-digit digs.

Concordia (12-9, ASC 8-6), which is in the hunt for its first ASC postseason berth since 2000, will play its first of three road matches in three days when it visits Trinity on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m.
