Bianca Martinez and
Kalynn White each posted their second straight double-double, but the Concordia University Texas volleyball team fell to Hardin-Simmons in three sets on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Mabee Complex. Set scores were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.
Martinez recorded 22 assists and 10 digs, while White added 10 kills and 10 digs to lead the Tornados in the losing effort. Samantha Ladewig just missed a double-double with 10 assists and eight digs, and
Alison Pringle posted a team-high four blocks to go along with six kills.
Kevyn Jackson once again led the squad in digs with 19.
Hardin-Simmons (17-4, ASC 11-2) got double-double performances from Madison Reyes and Kaitlin Mitchell. Reyes had 15 kills and 14 digs, while Mitchell finished with 21 assists and 10 digs. Other team leaders included Christine Sas, who recorded nine kills, 15 digs and two service aces, and Belle Shaver, who posted nine kills and hit at a .444 clip.
Concordia (12-11, ASC 8-7) will remain in Abilene to face McMurry tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. It will be the Tornados' third road match in as many days.
