Kalynn White posted a pair of double-doubles as the Concordia University Texas volleyball team split its final two matches on the final day of the Dig Pink Crossover Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Texas-Tyler. The Tornados defeated the host Patriots, 3-2 (11-25, 26-24, 14-25, 25-23, 15-11), before Texas-Dallas earned a 3-2 win over the Tornados by set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 20-25 and 15-5 to close out the tournament.
Against Texas-Tyler, White registered a career-best 18 kills to go along with 17 digs to pace the Tornados.
Bianca Martinez just missed a double-double with 30 assists and nine digs, while Samantha Ladewig and
Kevyn Jackson also put up double-digit numbers with 16 assists and 30 digs, respectively.
Amanda Affolter had a solid all-around performance with six digs, four kills, three aces and three blocks.
Three Tornados –
Shelbi Chipman, Martinez and White - recorded a double-double in the losing effort against Texas-Dallas. Chipman posted 11 kills and 13 digs, Martinez had 22 assists and 18 digs and White finished with 11 kills and 14 digs.
Alison Pringle added six digs, four kills and a team-leading five blocks.
Concordia (11-9, ASC 7-6), which ended the day in fourth place in the West Division and half a game behind Texas Lutheran, will visit Sul Ross State on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.
