- The Concordia University Texas volleyball team closed out play at the Bulldog Classic by splitting its final two matches against Linfield and Gallaudet. Linfield won a five-set thriller over Concordia by set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 15-5 before the Tornados regrouped to finish the two-day tournament with a 3-1 victory (25-19, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17) over Gallaudet. 
 
After splitting the first two sets with Linfield, Concordia found itself up 20-13 in the third frame before the Wildcats went on a 12-3 run to close it out and seize the momentum en route to the victory. Bianca Martinez and Kalynn White each registered a double-double to lead the way for the Tornados. Martinez contributed 18 assists and a career-best 15 digs, while White added 10 kills and 20 digs.

Kevyn Jackson, who has successfully made the major transition to being the team's primary libero after playing as an outside hitter for three seasons, had a career-high 43 digs to easily better her previous mark of 29 set on Oct. 16, 2009 against Texas-Tyler. Emma Clifford and Stacy Manship also set set new personal standards in the category with 10 apiece.

Linfield (3-4) also had two student-athletes register a double-double in the winning effort. Cora Hall had 12 assists and 19 digs, while Audrey Frazier finished with 18 assists and 10 digs. Stephanie Newman and Kailana Ritte-Camara contributed eight kills apice.

Against Gallaudet, the Tornados were once again led by White and Jackson. White just missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs, while Jackson posted 19 digs. Manship registered a team-high five service aces to go along with eight kills and 13 digs.

Gallaudet, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, got strong contributions from Kali Frowick, Sarah Tubert and Mari Klassen. Frowick finished with a double-double with 15 and 11 kills, while Sarah Tubert and Mari Klassin posted 30 assists and 18 digs, respectively,  .

Concordia (4-2) will return to Seguin on Tuesday, Sept. 13 when it opens up American Southwest Conference play at Texas Lutheran. Game time is 7 p.m.
