Richardson, Texas – Bianca Martinez recorded a combined 63 assists and 16 digs as the Concordia University Texas volleyball team split its last two matches on the final day of the Dig Pink Crossover Challenge. The Tornados ended the weekend alone in third place for what would be the final playoff spot in the league's postseason event with four games left on their schedule.

Concordia (10-13, ASC 5-7) started the day by winning a five-set marathon against LeTourneau (6-19, ASC 1-10) by set scores of 23-25, 25-9, 18-25, 25-15 and 15-8. The Tornados, however, ended the weekend with a loss to East Texas Baptist (12-6, ASC 9-2) in three frames. The Tigers won each set by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-20.

Martinez was one of three Tornados to register a double-double in the victory over the Yellow Jackets, as she finished with 40 assists and 12 digs to go along with five aces. Stacy Manship recorded 15 kills and a career-best 19 digs to go along with , while Chipman had 15 kills and 15 digs. Martinez and Chipman also contributed five aces apiece.

In the loss to the Tigers, Manship had another solid effort and nearly missed another double-double with nine kills and 11 digs. Martinez recorded 23 assists, four digs and three aces. Alissa Johnson led three Tornados with double-digit digs, adding 12 as the team's libero.

Concordia will visit Texas Lutheran on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
