Alison Pringle tallied a team-high 11 kills, but the Concordia University Texas volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor in its opening match of the Dig Pink Crossover Challenge on Friday, Sept. 21 at the CTX Field House. Set scores were 25-21, 25-17, 14-25 and 25-20.
In addition to Pringle, Concordia also got strong contribtutions from
Bianca Martinez,
Amanda Affolter,
Shelbi Chipman and
Alissa Johnson. Martinez finished with 37 assists and six digs, while Affolter had seven kills and 13 digs. Chipman fell just shy of a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs, and Johnson tallied a game-high 32 digs. Johnson and Chipman also added two aces apiece.
Kendall Pye led Mary Hardin-Baylor (10-2, ASC 3-1) with a double-double effort of 10 kills and 12 digs. Christina Miller had a solid all-around effort with 10 kills and four blocks, while Sapphire Reid added nine kills and 14 digs and Shelby Prather finished with 39 assists and nine digs. Tina Miller posted 10 kills.
Concordia (5-9, ASC 0-3) will play Mississippi College at 12:30 p.m. and Texas-Tyler at 5:30 p.m. to close out tournament play tomorrow afternoon.
