WATCH AN INTERVIEW WITH CTX FACULTY MEMBER LACY ALEXANDER

Austin, Texas – Bianca Martinez posted a combined 81 assists in leading the Concordia University Texas volleyball team to a pair of victories over Mississippi College and Texas-Tyler on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the CTX Field House. The Tornados defeated the Choctaws by scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-15 and 25-17 before concluding the Dig Pink Crossover Challenge with a win in straight sets over the Patriots by scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-21.

Martinez finished with 38 assists and seven digs in the triumph against Mississippi College. Madison Pedone posted her first career double-double with 12 kills and 11 assists, while Alison Pringle added 13 kills and three blocks. Pringle also hit at a .591 clip by not committing an error on 22 attacks. Alissa Johnson had 16 digs.

In the win over Texas-Tyler, Martinez quarterbacked an offense that posted a .327 hitting percentage. She had 43 helpers to go along with two kills and three digs. Pringle had eight kills and four blocks, while Amanda Affolter and Emma Clifford registered 11 kills apiece.

Concordia visits Schreiner on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
