AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule on Tuesday night when the squad hosts crosstown foe Huston-Tillotson. The non-conference match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at Concordia Fieldhouse.
Prior to the contest, the Tornados (7-14) will honor their four seniors –
Emma Clifford,
Alissa Johnson,
Sam Ladewig and
Alison Pringle – and one junior,
Stacy Manship.
Concordia Texas split a pair of American Southwest Conference matches last Saturday. The Tornados were swept by Mary Hardin-Baylor, but bounced back to take down Sul Ross State in four frames.
Sophomore
Katie Baker continues to lead Concordia with 2.57 points and 2.25 kills per panel. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native also ranks third on the team with 2.59 digs per set.
Meanwhile, Clifford leads the Tornados with a .246 hitting percentage and 57 total blocks (0.72/set). Junior
Cassie Dominguez is the team leader with an average of 2.66 digs per frame.
The Lady Rams (2-20) were swept by Texas-Brownsville in their last outing. Huston-Tillotson picked up its two wins on the season against Southwestern Christian (Sept. 7) and Texas College (Oct. 11). D'Janae Robinson leads the Lady Rams with 1.66 kills per set, while Amber Green boasts a team-best .294 hitting percentage.
