AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team celebrated Senior Night as it rolled to a sweep of crosstown foe Huston-Tillotson on Tuesday night at Concordia Fieldhouse. The Tornados won by scores of 25-11, 25-16 and 26-24.
Concordia Texas (8-14) used a balanced effort to sweep its final home match of the season.
Senior Sam Ladewig handed out a match-high 27 assissts and her classmate, Alissa Johnson, tallied a match-best 12 digs.
The Tornados limited the Lady Rams (2-21) to just a .011 hitting percentage. Huston-Tillotson committed 20 attack errors in the contest.
Prior to the match, Concordia honored its five seniors – Johnson, Ladewig, Emma Clifford, Stacy Manship and Alison Pringle. The senior class accounted for 21 of the Tornados' 38 kills on the night.
Concordia will return to American Southwest Conference play this weekend, as the squad travels to Abilene for a trio of matches. The Tornados will face Hardin-Simmons, Howard Payne and Texas-Dallas in a two-day span.
