Volleyball drops two ASC matches on Friday

BELTON, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team lost two American Southwest Conference (ASC) matches on Friday at the Mayborn Campus Center. The Tornados dropped a four-set contest to Texas-Tyler and were swept by East Texas Baptist later in the day.

Concordia Texas (9-18, 5-11 ASC) dropped the match to the Patriots by scores of 22-25, 19-25, 25-13 and 22-25.

Sophomore Katie Baker posted a double-double of 17 digs and 11 kills to lead the Tornados, while senior Sam Ladewig turned in 19 assists.

In the nightcap, the Tigers defeated CTX by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-23.

Sophomore Zöe Allen nearly missed a double-double after recording 20 assists and nine digs.

The Tornados will take on LeTourneau and Mississippi College at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday to close out league action.
