Concordia Texas falls to Texas-Dallas to conclude season

RICHARDSON, Texas – The sixth-seeded Concordia University Texas volleyball team was swept by No. 1 seed Texas-Dallas in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) Tournament elimination match on Friday afternoon. The Comets won the contest by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-11.

Concordia Texas, which closes out its campaign with a 12-21 overall record, was limited to a .023 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Katie Baker and senior Alissa Johnson each posted seven kills apiece to pace the Tornados, while Johnson completed a double-double with 13 digs. Senior Sam Ladewig also recorded a double-double of 12 assists and 11 stops.

Meanwhile, Texas-Dallas (30-7) logged a double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs, while hitting at a .378 clip.

The Comets advance to face the winner of third-seeded East Texas Baptist and No. 5 seed Texas-Tyler.
