AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team will play a trio of American Southwest Conference (ASC) matches this weekend in Alpine, Texas. The Tornados will take on Hardin-Simmons at 3 p.m. on Friday before matching up with Howard Payne and Texas-Dallas at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, the following day.
Concordia Texas (4-7, 1-1 ASC) split a pair of league-opening matches last Saturday in Austin. The Tornados swept Sul Ross State and dropped a four-set contest to rival Mary Hardin-Baylor later in the day.

Emma Clifford leads Concordia in points (2.51), kills (1.97) and blocks (0.89) per set. The Magnolia, Texas native amassed 18 winners and nine blocks (1.29/set) in last weekend's matches.
Meanwhile,
Sam Ladewig handed out 59 assists (8.43/set) in the first two league tilts and leads the Tornados with five helpers per frame this fall.
The Cowgirls (9-7, 4-0 ASC) have won eight of their last 11 matches, including all four in last weekend's conference pod at Richardson, Texas. The dynamic duo of Tori Martinez and Christine Sas lead Hardin-Simmons' attack. Sas ranks second in the ASC with 3.34 kills per panel, while Martinez sits in third at 3.23. Ashley Babineaux also ranks second with 5.06 digs per set.
The Lady Jackets (10-4, 2-2 ASC) split their four league-opening contests last weekend at a pod in Richardson. Howard Payne also prepped for the upcoming matches with a sweep of Texas College on Tuesday night in Brownwood. Sarah Bishop ranks fifth in the circuit with 3.17 kills per frame, while Shelby Bridges sits in fifth with 4.2 digs per panel.
The Comets (10-5, 4-0 ASC) own the league's longest active winning streak, which currently sits at eight matches. Texas-Dallas, which is tied with the Cowgirls for the conference lead, has not lost since it was swept by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sept. 7. The Comets rank second in the ASC with 17.06 digs per set and third with a .255 hitting percentage. Taylour Toso checks in at fourth in the league with 3.2 winners per frame.
