LONGVIEW, Texas – Adrian Sanchez scored the equalizing goal with 1.9 seconds left in regulation, and the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw in double overtime against LeTourneau on Saturday night.
Marshal Tucker crossed the ball in the box and found Sanchez, who put it away from eight yards out just before time expired. It marked Sanchez's first career goal, while Tucker picked up his third assist of the campaign.
Both teams went scoreless in the two overtime periods and settled for a point apiece in the American Southwest Conference tilt.
The Tornados (5-7-3, 0-4-3 ASC) held an 18-10 advantage in shot attempts, including a 10-6 edge in attempts on goal.
Tucker led all players with four shots, while six other CTX players had two attempts.
The YellowJackets took an early 1-0 advantage after Danny Canaviri headed in a cross in the 12th minute.
Kyle Duncan made five saves to pick up the victory for Concordia Texas.
The Tornados will head back home to host Texas Dallas in a conference match on Friday, Oct. 31. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin.
