Young provides late goal to lead Concordia Texas past LeTourneau, 1-0

LONGVIEW, Texas – Nicole Young found the back of the net in the 89th minute, and the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team topped LeTourneau 1-0 in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match on Saturday evening.

Young received a pass from Jordan James after a scramble in the box before putting away the game-winning goal. It marked Young's second goal of the season, and second game-winning score.

The Tornados (6-4-3, 3-3-1 ASC) held an 18-4 advantage in shot attempts, but it was not until the final minute that the squad was able to break through. Concordia Texas also registered an 8-1 advantage in attempts on target.

Jordan James led the team with seven attempts, including four on target.

Kila Hartom and Megan Frontiera split the match in goal for CTX. Frontiera came in at halftime and made one save in the combined shutout.

The YellowJackets' only shot on goal came from JoLynn O'Kelley in the 59th minute, but Frontiera made the stop.

The Tornados will return home to host Texas Dallas on Friday, Oct. 31. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin.
