PINEVILLE, La. – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team picked up its first American Southwest Conference (ASC) victory on Saturday with a 4-0 win over Louisiana College at Wildcat Field.
Jordan James,
Nicole Henderson,
Lena New and
Alex Price all scored goals in the victory, while
Meagan Brown registered three assists.
Henderson started the scoring in the seventh minute off assists from Brown and New.
In the 24th minute, Price headed in a corner kick service from Brown to give the Tornados (4-2-3, 1-1-1 ASC) a 2-0 lead.
Just over a minute later, James extended the advantage to three goals after she picked up her sixth goal of the season. The Portland native also was set up by Brown.
In the second half, New found the back of the net after converting a pass from
Lindsey Roberts in the 84th minute.
Concordia Texas attempted 12 shots on the night, including eight on goal.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats (0-8, 0-2 ASC) were limited to six shots, all of which were saved by
Kila Hartom.
Hartom logged her first solo shutout of the campaign.
The Tornados will return home to host Howard Payne on Friday, Oct. 10. The conference match will kick off at 5 p.m. at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium in Austin.
