Texas Dallas clips Concordia Texas in double overtime of ASC Tournament, 2-1

ABILENE, Texas – Texas Dallas came from a goal down to knock off the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team, 2-1, in double overtime of the first quarterfinal match at the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Thursday.

The Comets (13-4-1) received the game-winning score from Courtney Walton in the 103rd minute to advance to the semifinal round.

The Tornados (7-6-3) took an early lead after Meagan Brown put away a pass from Nicole Young in the 14th minute.

However, Texas Dallas rallied in the second half, as Alissa Burch found the back of the net in the 67th minute to tie the contest.

Neither team was able to break through in the remainder of regulation or the first overtime period.

Concordia Texas had two chances to score in the first overtime session, but Young and Christina Odom both were turned away by Comets goalkeeper Macaire Ament.

Just three minutes into the second overtime, Burch played the ball to Walton who hit a shot into the upper 90 and ended the contest.

Texas Dallas moves on to play top-seed Hardin-Simmons at 11 a.m. Saturday.
