SEGUIN, TEXAS – The Concordia University Texas volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday to wrap up play at the Bulldog Classic. The Tornados fell to Willamette in five sets (15-25,17-25,25-16,25-16,15-10) and were swept (25-20,25-13,25-23) by Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Concordia Texas (1-3) held a two-set advantage over the Bearcats (2-1) in the opening contest, but Willamette rallied to win the final three frames. The Tornados were limited to a .113 hitting percentage.
Katie Baker led the way for CTX with a double-double that included 18 kills and 10 digs.
Zoe Allen racked up 36 assists, while
Cassie Dominguez was credited with 20 digs.
In the finale, the Titans (4-0) remained unbeaten with a three-set victory over the Tornados.
Baker turned in another solid performance with 11 winners and a .375 hitting percentage. The Corpus Christi native also added nine stops, narrowly missing another double-double.
Carly Custer tallied nine kills and hit .381, while Allen handed out 19 helpers.
Concordia will close out its season-opening five-match road trip with a stop at Schreiner on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The non-conference tilt is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at Edington Gym in Kerrville.
