AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's basketball team shot 51.7 percent from the field and extended its winning streak to three games following an 83-71 victory over LeTourneau on Monday night at Concordia Fieldhouse.

Andre Potts continued his solid play by scoring a team-high 18 points. Rashad Coleman added 17 points and Donovan Ford netted 11.

The YellowJackets (4-7, 2-4 ASC) received a game-high 22 points from Sam Talbert.

With the game tied 33-33, Coleman knocked down a jumper that gave the Tornados the lead for good. His bucket keyed a 12-2 run that allowed CTX to claim a 45-35 advantage. Concordia went into the locker room with a 47-39 lead at halftime.

The Tornados stretched their lead to 54-39 after Jared Galvan hit a free throw with 17:50 remaining. LeTourneau was able to trim the lead to 57-52, thanks to a 3-pointer by Talbert. However, CTX responded with an 8-0 spurt that included five points from Potts.

The YellowJackets again were able to knock the lead to only five in the next two minutes, but a 7-2 spurt pushed the advantage to 72-62 with 6:01 to play.

Concordia closed out the contest by scoring 11 of the final 20 points to clinch the victory.

The Tornados will head out on the road for a pair of conference tilts this weekend. Concordia will take on Texas-Tyler at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
