BOX SCORE TYLER, Texas -- The Concordia Texas volleyball team wrapped up the second ASC Crossover Tournament with a dramatic 3-2 triumph over LeTourneau Saturday afternoon at UT Tyler's Herrington Arena.
Carly Custer paced the Tornado attack with 14 kills.
Katie Baker tallied her seventh double-double of the season with 12 kills and 19 digs.
Jordan Redmond landed 11 kills and a\ match-best four block assists.
Lexi Perez led the defensive effort with 38 digs.
Concordia sealed the victory dominating in the fifth set, 15-7. The Tornados (9-7, 5-4 ASC) began the frame on a 5-2 run and remained in control.
It was the Yellow Jackets, however, who began the match with a 25-17 win in the first set. LeTourneau (8-16, 2-7 ASC) came from behind to tie the opener at 15-all and controlled the set the rest of the way.
Concordia would answer with a dominant performance in the second set, tying the match at one game a piece with a 25-12 win.
The Yellow Jackets took an 11-6 advantage to open the middle set. The Tornados would regroup after a timeout and outscored their foes 13-7 to take a 19-18 lead. Unfortunately, LeTourneau went on a rally of its own, closing out the frame on a 7-1 burst.
Much like the second set, the Tornados never trailed in the fourth set and garnered a 25-17 victory to force the race to 15.
Concordia remains on the road for a midweek contest at Hardin-Simmons on Oct. 21.
