BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas volleybal team earned a 3-0 victory over Howard Payne Friday evening in the season's penultimate home contest.

Katie Baker and Skye Truss landed 11 kills apiece. Truss was extremely effective, hitting at a .417 clip (11 K, 1 E, 24 TA). Baker, meanwhile, added 10 digs on defense for her eighth double-double of the season. Lexi Perez added 15 digs to lead the defensive effort.

The Tornados (10-9, 6-5 ASC) and Lady Jackets (1-18, 1-10) traded early blows in the first set, but Concordia never looked back after getting on top at 10-9. The Tornados would go on to take the opener 25-19.

The middle frame saw the same tally, however Concordia led after breaking an 8-8 stalemate.

The Tornados opened the final set on a huge run and remained in control for a 25-14 win.

Concordia ends the home portion of its schedule tomorrow afternoon against Sul Ross. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
