ROUND ROCK, Texas – Ozarks built an 11-0 lead in the first three innings and earned a 15-7 victory in five innings over the Concordia University Texas softball team on Saturday at Old Settlers Park.
The Lady Eagles (1-2, 1-2 ASC) scored in each of the five innings, including four runs in both the first and third frames.
The Tornados (2-1, 2-1 ASC) picked up their first run in the third, and then scored four times in the fourth and twice in the fifth.
Alyssa Autrey was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs to pace Concordia Texas.
Natalia Macias and
Amber Robinson also collected a pair of hits each, while Macias had a triple and drove in two.
Haley Coppock went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead Ozarks.
Hailie Gilbert (1-1) earned the win after scattering nine hits and allowing seven runs in the complete-game performance.
Shelby Burrus (0-1) took the loss, as she allowed seven runs (four earned) on five hits in 1.2 stanzas.
The Tornados will begin a five-game road trip next week. Concordia will travel to former ASC foe Texas Lutheran for a doubleheader on Tuesday in Seguin. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
