BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas volleyball team won a 3-2 thriller over Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday night at the Concordia Fieldhouse.

Jordan Redmond led the Tornados (3-3, 2-0 ASC) with a match-high 18 kills, four of which came in the fifth set. Carly Custer (12 kills, 10 digs) and Katie Baker (11 K, 20 D) each contributed double-doubles for Concordia. Lexi Perez grabbed a match-best 21 digs while Nacole Miller led the Tornados with 30 assists.

After trailing early in the fifth set at 6-2, the Tornados settled down and fired off an 11-1 run to grab a 13-7 advantage. The Cru (3-6, 0-1) drew to within three at 13-10 and again at 14-11 before Concordia grabbed match point on a kill by Miller.

The Tornados started the match in control after winning the first two sets 25-20 and 25-23, but the Cru overcame large deficits in both frames and was able to gain momentum. UMHB regrouped after dropping that second set and seemed to grab all of the energy, taking the third and fourth sets 25-19 and 25-22, respectively.

Next up, Concordia will look to defend its perfect conference record against East Texas Baptist, UT Dallas and Bellhaven at the UMHB crossover tournament beginning Friday.
