BOX SCORE BELTON, Texas -- The Concordia Texas volleyball team ended play at the ASC Crossover Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Belhaven Saturday afternoon. The event was hosted by Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Katie Baker (16 kills, 25 digs) ,
Carly Custer (12 kills, 18 digs) and
Nacole Miller's (44 assists, 10 digs) double-doubles helped lead the Tornados over the Blazers.
Jordan Redmond logged 10 kills and four block assists to help the Concordia attack.
Lexi Perez tallied a match-high 44 digs to lead the defense.
The squads split the first two sets. The opener went to the Tornados, 25-22, but the second set was by far the most dramatic. The Blazers forced several extra points before taking the frame 29-27. Afterwards, Concordia regained the momentum and closed out the match with a 25-21 win in set three and a dominant 25-10 win in the clincher.
The Tornados return home for a midweek nonconference battle against McMurry on Sept. 30. The theme for the night will be "Way Back Wednesday." Fans are encouraged to sport their best-of-the-90s items.
