RICHARDSON, Texas – Carly Custer and Kelly Farina recorded double-doubles to help lead the Tornados' volleyball team to a 3-2 victory over Belhaven Saturday afternoon at Crossover II, hosted by UT Dallas.

Custer had a game-best 18 kills and also had 18 digs. Farina added 17 kills and 14 digs. Lianne VanDyke dealt an astonishing 64 assists.

Marissa Stinson added 15 kills. Lexi Perez grabbed a match-best 33 digs.

After the two squads reached a 7-7 stalemate, CTX clamped down for an 8-4 run to win the deciding set 15-11.

After dropping the opening set 25-21, the Tornados rallied to grab a 25-17 win in set two.  The Tornados carried the momentum into the third for a 25-22 triumph. The Blazers would force a fifth set by taking the fourth by a 25-22 tally.

The Tornados snapped a two-game skid with the win. They remain on the road for a Friday battle at Mary Hardin-Baylor. First serve is at 6 p.m.
