CTX Falls Short vs. Hardin-Simmons to Close Out Homestand

AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision Tuesday evening at the Concordia Fieldhouse.

The Tornados and Cowgirls found themselves tied 31 times and the squads traded the lead 19 times.

CTX opened the first set in control for most of the way, but HSU staged a comeback and fought off two set points to take the opener 26-24.

The teams found themselves in a stalemate at 23 in the second frame, but the Cowgirls emerged with a 25-23 win.

Concordia found its stride in the third set, battling from down 22-21 to win 25-23.

HSU controlled the fourth frame from start to finish and took the decider 25-18.

Kelly Farina led the Tornados with 12 kills. Carly Custer added 11. Lianne Van Dyke dished out a match-high 40 assists.

Concordia goes opens a five-match road trip at Sul Ross State Thursday evening.
