BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia Texas women's soccer team beat Belhaven 4-2 Friday afternoon at St. Stephen's Episcopal School.
The Tornados (2-1-1) came out very aggressive, putting nine shots on goal in the first half alone. Two of those shots found the back of the net. First, Madi Timmons found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. She put a charge on the net and scored uncontested after faking out the Belhaven (1-3-0). Then, moments later, Peyton Heilig put one past the Blazer keeper on a feed from Hailey Miller.
Finding itself down 2-0, Belhaven stepped up the tempo, putting two shots on goal. CTX keeper Shelby Franco was able to stop the first, but the second found the netting in the 30th minute, putting the Blazers on the board.Â
The score remained 2-1 at the break, but the Tornados were able to add some breathing room early on out of the intermission. Kaitlyn Ellis scored her first goal of the 2016 campaign by knocking the ball in off BU netminder Alexis McDonald in the 49th minute.

The Blazers would add a late goal to bring the final tally to 4-2.
The Tornados return to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Louisiana College at St. Stephen's.
