BOX SCORE AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team wrapped up ASC Crossover I with a 3-0 sweep of LeTourneau Saturday afternoon at the Tornado Gym.
Carly Custer amassed 15 kills along with 10 digs while hitting at a .522 clip (15 K, 3 E, 23 TA). Courtney Gopinath added 10 kills on 15 attacks and hit a .467. Kelly Farina landed 12 kills. Lexi Perez had a match-best 13 digs and three service aces.
The Tornados commanded the first set, opening up a 17-10 advantage. The YellowJackets chipped into the CTX lead, but Concordia would take the opener 25-19.
The momentum carried into the middle set as CTX controlled the stanza virtually wire-to-wire in the 25-12.
The YellowJackets looked to spoil the sweep and positioned themselves well to do so, as the visitors led the third set as late as 18-14. Concordia then went on an impressive 11-4 route to earn the sweep.
The Tornados remain home for a Friday night tilt against Mary Hardin-Baylor. First serve is at 6 p.m.
