AUSTIN, Texas – In an exhibition matchup with St. Edward's, the Concordia Texas men's basketball team fell short to the Hilltoppers losing 102-84 in the finale of the St. Edward's Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday.
With many of the usual Tornados resting for the game,
Jalon Robinson shot 9-16 from the field, including 5-9 from the behind the arc, to finish the game with a team-high 27 points.
Concordia Texas would trail by 25 points with 9:39 remaining in the first half, but would close out the period on a 30-10 run and trailed by five heading to the locker room. Robinson had 11 in the half, while
Maluw Deng made three of his first four shots for nine points.
In the second half, SEU would begin to pull away, outscoring the Tornados 55-42 in the half.
Ronnie Hamilton did most of his damage in the paint, scoring nine of his 14 points the second half alone.
Sedrick Jennings knocked down a pair of threes and had nine points in the period and finished the game with 11 as the Tornados fell 102-84.
Next up, CTX will have a quick turnaround as they will return to Concordia Fieldhouse on Monday to host St. Thomas (Houston) at 7 p.m.
