Tornados roll past McMurry

ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Men's Basketball team stormed out to a 25-point lead in the first half and never looked back as they went on to defeat McMurry 112-98 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Five Tornados scored in double figures led by Ben Page's career-high 27 points, while grabbing eight rebounds. Joe Neal had a near double-double finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds. CTX did not miss much as they shot 64.8 percent from the field, including 12-18 from behind the arc, while holding the War Hawks to 42.7 percent.
 
CTX opened the first half on a 25-5 run on their way to a 66 point half. The Tornados would only miss seven shots in the whole first half. They would take their largest lead at 44-19 with 7:42 remaining in the half. CTX headed to the locker room leading 66-44, led by Ephriam Price's 14 points, while Philip Meikle had 10 points, including a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc.
 
In the second half, the Tornados were outscored 54-46, but still shot over 50 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three-point range. Rashad Coleman would score 10 of his 19 points in the second half, while Page scored 15 points in the half. McMurry would get as close as 14 points in the second half, but the Tornados closed out the regular season with a 112-98 win.  
 
CTX finishes the season as the two seed in the ASC West division and will travel to Longview, Texas for the ASC tourney hosted by LeTourneau College. The Tornados will open the tournament against the three seed from the East divison, UT Tyler on Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.
