TYLER, Texas – After rallying from a three-run deficit, the Concordia Softball team fell to Louisiana College 5-4 in an elimination game of the American Southwest Conference Tournament on Friday.
The Wildcats grabbed a 3-0 lead after scoring two runs in the first inning and adding one in the third.
In the sixth,
Kennedy Coffin led off the inning with a single, one-out later;
Emma Martino reached on a bunt single past the infield.
Brittani Whitten followed with a shot over the right-field wall to tie the game up at 3-3.
CTX would take its first lead of the game with a run in the seventh as
Haley Dennett's single into right brought home
Payton Walker, who led off the inning with a single and now led 4-3.
In the bottom half of the seventh, LC responded with two runs to win the game 5-4 and eliminated the Tornados.
It ends the season for CTX as seniors
