BOX SCORE BROWNWOOD, Texas – Down two sets to none, the Concordia Texas volleyball team rallied with three straight set wins to defeat Howard Payne 3-2 on Saturday.

Marjani Myles and Marissa Stinson both had career-highs in kills as each finished with 17 on the day. Carly Custer recorded her fifth double-double of the season, finishing the match with 10 kills and 15 digs. The win was the third straight for the Tornados (5-4, 2-0 ASC) after sweeping Sul Ross State on Friday.

CTX would lose the first two sets of the match, both being highly contested sets. The Yellow Jackets (3-8, 1-2 ASC) led 2-0 heading to the third set. CTX never broke though, recording 14 kills each in the next two sets to even the match at 2-2 and headed towards a decisive fifth set.

HPU opened the fifth set winning five of the first six points, but the Tornados would reel off a 12-2 run to take the lead including a Myles kill giving CTX the lead for good. A Custer kill and Yellow Jackets' error would complete the rally as the Tornados took the fifth set 15-8 to win the match.

CTX will next travel to Abilene, Texas to face Hardin-Simmons in their third straight road game on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
