CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team wrapped up their home slate with 7-0 loss against No. 10 Hardin-Simmons on Sunday at John Gupton Stadium.
Shelby Franco recorded a total of eight saves, seven of which came in the second half as CTX fell to 6-8, 5-5 in the American Southwest Conference.
Despite the loss, the Tornados were still able to secure a spot in the ASC Tournament by virtue of East Texas Baptist's 2-1 loss against Sul Ross State Sunday afternoon.
It is the ninth consecutive season CTX has advanced to the ASC Tournament. The nine straight tournament appearances is the third-longest active streak in the conference, trailing only HSU (20) and UT Dallas (17).
The Cowgirls got on the board in the 11th minute when Baylee Ford found the back of the net to give HSU the lead. The 18-time ASC Tournament champions added three more goals in the first half and here in the second to take the victory.
The Tornados were led offensively by
Savannah McHam and
Pamela Lasprilla, who both posted a shot on goal.
Next up, CTX will travel to Alpine, Texas to wrap up the regular season with a matchup against Sul Ross Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
