ALPINE, Texas –
Ben Page recorded his seventh double-double of the season while joining the 1000-point club, but it was not enough as the Concordia Texas men's basketball team fell to UT Dallas 81-65 in the American Southwest Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.
Page knocked down a pair of free throws with 16:45 remaining in the first half to reach 1000 points in his four-year career with the Tornados.
He becomes just the 17th player in program history to reach 1000 points, joining teammates
Ephriam Price III and
Joe Neal, who both reached the milestone earlier this season. He also becomes just the fifth player in the history of CTX basketball to record at least 1000 points and 500 rebounds in a career.
The Tornados would trail by as much as nine points but closed out the half on a 15-3 run and took a 35-31 lead into the locker room at halftime, led by Page's nine points.
In the second half, CTX would push their lead to 11 with 15:26 left after an
Ephriam Price III. He would finish 4-7 from behind the arc, scoring 14 points on the night.
The Comets would come back though, outscoring the Tornados 50-30 in the second half, taking the game 81-65. Page finished the game with a team-high 16 points along with 11 rebounds.
Concordia Texas' season comes to an end, wrapping up the year with a 15-11 record and qualifying for its sixth straight conference tournament.
