RICHARDSON, Texas – Summer Harper homered for the fifth time this season and the Concordia Texas softball team split a pair of games against UT Dallas on Friday.

In game one, the Comets would strike first with two runs in the first inning.

Jorden Russell would cut the deficit in half though with a solo home run in fifth. It was her second home run of the season.

Concordia would begin to chip away, cutting the lead to one with a run in the sixth on a Comets error.

In the seventh, trailing 3-2, Payton Walker had a leadoff single and reached second after a sac bunt by Olivia Kaase. Whitten would follow it up with a double into right to tie it up at 3-all.

UT Dallas would win the game in the bottom half of the inning though, scoring an unearned run, to take game one, 4-3.

In game two, the Tornados would have to come from behind once again, trailing 2-0 after the first three frames.
