Tornados rally, take down Hardin-Simmons 6-3

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Joshua Bode won a thrilling three set match at line one singles and the Concordia Texas men's tennis team won their fifth match in a row, defeating Hardin-Simmons 6-3 on Friday.

The Tornados would fall behind early, dropping two of the three doubles matches. At line three, Adam Compton and Evan Pena Jr. would notch the first point of the day for CTX, winning handily 8-1.

In the singles matches, the Tornados would dominate the Cowboys, winning five of the six contests.

Bode, playing at line, would split the first two sets against HSU's Alex Hunt, but come out on top in the decisive third set 6-2 to win the match.

Hoanh Le would also go to three sets against Nathaniel Schoendor, winning at line two 6-7, 6-1, 7-5. Compton, meanwhile, would battle back after dropping the first to win the final two sets 6-0, 6-2 at line five.

Evan Pena Jr. and Jorge Garcia would cruise in their matches at line four and six, respectively, winning in straight sets as CTX defeated the Cowboys 6-3 for their fifth win in a row.

Next, the Tornados will close out the regular season against Mary Hardin-Baylor on April 19, at 4 p.m., at the River Place Country Club.
