PINEVILLE, La. – Ashley Hallmark had a pair of hits but the Concordia Texas softball fell short to Louisiana College in the series finale 4-0 on Saturday.

The Tornados fall to 14-23 (9-14 ASC) for the season with one conference series remaining.

The Wildcats would get on the board first, pushing across three runs in the second inning to take a 3-0 lead.

In the fourth, CTX looked to counter, getting runners in scoring position with one away, but LC would throw Diana Payne out at the plate on a fielder's choice followed by a line out to end the threat.

The Tornados would seek late-inning magic for the third straight game heading into the seventh. Brianna Heredia would reach on a one-out single, while Payton Walker worked a walk one out later to bring up Anissa Garcia. Garcia, though, was unable to cut into the lead, popping out to end the game.

Concordia Texas currently sit outside the top eight teams to qualify for the American Southwest Conference Tournament, but face Howard Payne in their final regular season series, looking to earn their third straight conference tournament berth.

The Tornados will face the Yellow Jackets in a doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. followed by the finale on Saturday at 1 p.m. where the team will celebrate senior day.
