AUSTIN, Texas –
Cassandra Landeros-Cabrera and
Isabella Wiik teamed up to win at line one doubles and then each won their respective singles matches and the Concordia Texas women's tennis team rolled past LeTourneau 6-3 on Saturday at River Place Country Club.
The Tornados won two of the three doubles matches and never looked back, winning their third straight match.
Landeros-Cabrera and Wiik breezed past the YellowJackets' Maddison Brackenreg and Bailey Deatherage 8-2 to grab a win at line one doubles.
Claire Austin and
Kaitlin Stevens, meanwhile, held off LETU's Summer Apostalo and Amber Van Duyn 8-6 at line three to give CTX the early lead.
In singles, Wiik wasted no time at line two, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Landeros-Cabrera, meanwhile at line one, barely broke a sweat in a 6-1, 6-2 win to give the Tornados a 4-2 lead.
Natalia Goodman clinched the team win for CTX with a 6-3, 6-3 win at line four over the YellowJackets' Apostalo.
Rachel Sweitzer -closed out the match with a straight-set win at line six as the Tornados defeated LETU 6-3.
Concordia Texas will continue its home stand, hosting East Texas Baptist on Saturday, at 2 p.m., at the River Place Country Club in Austin, Texas.
