JACKSON, Miss. – The Concordia Texas volleyball team capped off their four-match road stint with an impressive victory, toppling Belhaven 3-1 for their third straight win on Friday.

After falling in the first set 25-22, the Tornados took control of the match and won the next three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-20.

Sarah Ghormley and Kylexus Block led the Tornados' attack, as Ghormley recorded 16 kills and six digs alongside Block's 14 kills, eight digs, and two blocks. Krystal Gundy and Kaitlyn Ruiz split the setter duties, recording 21 and 18 assists, respectively.

In the opening set, the Tornados jumped out to 9-8 lead behind three kills from Jaya McCarty, but a 6-1 run from Belhaven later in the set propelled the Blazers to a 25-22 win in set one.

The Tornados led the entire second set, controlling the frame from the opening serve, and a kill from Nicole Deering capped off the 25-19 set win.

Ghormley came alive with five kills in the third set, and Abi Hilpert added three kills and a block to the 25-18 effort in the frame. The Tornados took a 2-1 lead and headed to the fourth set with a chance to close out the match.

In the final set, the Tornados and Blazers exchanged blows in a back-and-forth affair, but Kylexus Block propelled the Tornados' charge with six kills in the set, closing out the match with a 25-20 victory in the frame.

Avery Smith dug a team-high 10 balls, and Jaya McCarty finished the night with eight kills to go along with a block and a service ace.
