Kaley Kaspar registered a shot on-goal, but the Concordia Texas women's soccer team was unable to net a goal in a 3-0 loss to Hardin-Simmons on Thursday.
The Tornados suffered an early goal and were unable to recover, ultimately falling three goals to one and snapping their three-match winning streak.
The Cowgirls struck quickly, netting their first goal in the 17th minute to gain a 1-0 advantage.
Kaspar found a scoring opportunity in the 26th minute, firing a strike on-goal, but a save from the HSU keeper kept the Tornados off the board. After one half of play, the Tornados trailed 1-0.
In the second half, Hardin-Simmons struck for two quick goals in the 54th and 58th minute, extending their lead to 3-0.
Marley Hennig fired a shot in the 74th minute and
Kallie Krenz and
Jenna Townsley followed with shots in the 81st and 82nd minutes, but the Tornados were unable to cut into the deficit, ultimately falling 3-0.
Concordia Texas will look to bounce back with a quick turnaround, hosting McMurry on Saturday for their final home game of the season. Prior to the 1 pm kickoff, the Tornados will honor their graduating seniors who have represented the program with a senior day ceremony.
