SAN ANTONIO – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team saw their four-match winning streak come to an end, falling to Trinity 9-0 on Friday at the Newman Tennis Center.
The Tornados enter the night's match having won their previous four matches, including most recently a 6-3 win over UT Dallas in a non-conference showdown, but were unable to keep pace with the Tigers.
In doubles, CTX fell at all three lines despite a strong performance from
Michael Davis and
Esteban Arredondo at line three, coming up short against Trinity's Jordan Pitts and Wilson Hamilton 8-5.
In singles play, the Tornados searched for a spark to begin a comeback, but were unable to pick up a point, falling in all six matches.
After dropping the first five singles matchups,
Evan Pena Jr. provided CTX's last opportunity, playing at line five, but fell short against the Tigers' Pitts 6-4, 6-3.
The Tornados will have a quick turnaround and chance to bounce back as they face Schreiner on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Kerrville, Texas.
