LONGVIEW, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team won all six matches in singles play and cruised past LeTourneau 7-2 on Saturday for their second straight win at the Davis Tennis Courts.
Coming off a shutout win of Texas Lutheran last weekend, the Tornados stayed hot on the court, dropping only one set in singles play.
Concordia Texas had a rocky start to the match, dropping two of three in doubles play, picking up a point at line two as
Joeri Bregman and
Robin Van der Heijden took care of business with an 8-4 victory.
In single play, the Tornados flexed their muscles, winning all six matches.
Joshua Bode remained undefeated at line one singles on the season, rolling to a 6-4, 6-4 win over the YellowJackets Julian Lee. Van der Heijden and Bergman each registered their second wins of the day, winning at line two and three, respectively.
Esteban Arredondo only dropped a game in each set in his win at line four, while
Jorge Garcia dominated at line six with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Evan Pena Jr. closed out CTX's victory by holding off a second set comeback by LETU's Gavin Meyer to secure 6-2, 6-4 victory.
The Tornados will have a quick turnaround when they travel to Marshall, Texas for a non-conference match against East Texas Baptist at 9 a.m.
