ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team continued American Southwest Conference play on the road Friday, falling to Hardin-Simmons 8-1.
The Tornados were unable to pick up a point in doubles play, falling to the Cowgirls in all three matches.
Claire Austin and
Kaitlin Stevens provided a great effort at line two, but the pair came out on the wrong end of an 8-5 defeat.
In singles play, the Tornados went 1-5 and ultimately came up short with an overall score of 8-1.
Isabella Wiik started singles play at line one, battling in the first set but suffering a 7-5 defeat before dropping the second set.
Stevens picked up the lone point for the Tornados, defeating HSU's Taja Lawrence in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 and advancing to a 6-1 record in singles play this season.
The Tornados will look to bounce back when they return home, hosting Howard Payne in an ASC matchup on April 10 at 1 p.m. at River Place Country Club in Austin, Texas.
