AUSTIN, Texas – Sarah Ghormley had double-digit kills for the fourth time in her last five matches and the Concordia Texas volleyball team returned to the win column, defeating Belhaven 3-0 on Sunday.

The Tornados were seeking to bounce back after a four-match losing streak on the road. They returned to form thanks to the play of Ghormley and Kylexus Block, sweeping BU 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.

Concordia Texas jumped out to a fast start in the opening set, taking a 10-6 advantage after Avery Smith's service ace.

The Tornados racked up a season-high 13 service aces on the afternoon, including three from both Kaitlyn Ruiz and Audri Crawford.

Block and Ghormley combined for 13 kills in the set and CTX never looked back, winning the opening frame.

In the second set, the Tornados recorded seven service aces, including one from Ruiz to make it 12-10.

The Blazers pulled within two at 20-18 after a CTX attack error, but the Tornados responded with a 5-2 run, ending the frame on a Block kill to go up 2-0.

In the final set, it was a back-and-forth battle, finishing with eight ties and four lead changes.

The Tornados trailed early on, but recovered, and took their largest lead of the set at 15-11 after a BU attack error.

The Blazers did not go away though, reeling off six straight points to go back in front.

Tied at 20-all, Ghormley gave CTX the go-ahead point and held off BU to complete the sweep, picking up their second win of the season.

The Tornados' homestand will continue on Friday, hosting Sul Ross State at 5 p.m. inside Concordia Fieldhouse.
