LONGVIEW, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's soccer sophomore forward
Falynn Pyterek scored two second half goals to help upend the LeTourneau Yellowjackets, 3-1.
Patricia Heckendorn also found the back of the net at LETU Soccer Field on Saturday.
CTX controlled the pace for most of the match as they outshot the Yellowjackets 16-9 (8-2 on goal).
LETU got on the scoreboard first with an own goal in the 14th minute.The Tornados answered three minutes later on a counter attack when
Kaley Kaspar found Heckendorn for a goal.
Both defenses would hold steady until Krenz capitalized on the rebound of a shot by
Emily Mowrer for the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute. Gaining insurance in the 84th minute, Pyterek put the match out of reach with a bomb for over 40-yards to give the Tornados the 3-1 victory.
The Tornados will return home to take on Howard Payne on Thursday, Oct. 6 with a 5 p.m. kickoff.
