Four XC Runners Earn Top-20 Finishes at the ETBU Invitational

MARSHALL, Texas - Four Concordia Texas cross country athletes earned top-20 finishes at the ETBU Tiger Invitational. The men's team placed third overall, while freshman Samuel Valdez tallied a new personal best of of 28:59.7 in the 8k.

On the women's side, Faith Bueno placed 18th with a time of 29:14.9 for the Tornados. 

For the men, Kamron Loera (27:19.3) placed fourth overall and third among competing student athletes. This was his first career top-five finish in cross country. Thomas Hughes crossed the finish line at 28:16.7 for an 11th-place finish, while Valdez also secured a top-20 finish in 19th.

Jacob Ismir had his best 8k of this season with a time of 30:14.8 to place 27th. Daniel Bizima (31:55.8) placed 34th overall, while Jorge Garcia (33:42.2) rounded out the Tornados finishers for the men in 43rd place.

The Tornados will now take two weeks off of competition before heading back to Marshall, Texas on Oct. 29 to compete in the ASC cross country championships.
